Chernarus is the original and main map on Day-Z, and currently the largest map available to survivors.

If you've been fishing, hunting, or even foraging, you'll likely want to create a fireplace to cook your raw food on.

You'll need to loot and craft a number of materials in order to fashion your own fishing rod, but the satisfaction of catching and cooking your own food is well worth the hassle.

In my very first attempt at surviving on DayZ I begin to learn the controls, manage my inventory, explore a little and loot. I last about 35 minutes before starving to death.
